location history of hashing in richmond

I conducted a web scraping project that compiled nearly fifteen years of hashing data from Richmond, Virginia.

We have several local kennels — Richmond Hash House Harriers (the original, and often the biggest), Belle Isle Babes (a less shiggy, downtown-focused hash), Titanic Full Moon Hash House Harriers (obviously, our full moon hash), Chain Gang (a bike hash), and several intermittent and rogue kennels. If the trail location was posted on Meetup, it should be reflected here.

These heat maps show the concentration of trail start locations since 2011 at various levels of zoom. Most start locations are within the 295/288 corridors. but there are some trails start up to a 30 minute radius of downtown Richmond.

This interactive map shows each trail start location (as best we could determine it). Lighter color icons indicate older hashes, and darker icons indicate recent ones.
